Welcome to Upward, where Every Child IS a Winner!
Sports are a great way for children to learn about teamwork, respect for authority and sportsmanship. The sad part is all those things are being lost in today’s sporting society. With an Upward sport, these key essentials are included to create the best sporting experience for every child that participates. Each Upward Sport is designed to reveal the winner in every child. Every child plays. Every child learns. Every child IS a Winner!
Mt. Harmony Baptist Church is excited about our Upward Program and we are proud to annouce that we are adding a new sport this Fall - Flag Football and Cheerleading. The season will begin on Saturday, September 12th and end eight weeks later on October 31st. Practices begin on August 24th and we will have an awards celebration at the close of the season on Sunday, November 8th.
We look forward to having your child join us this Fall as we kickoff our inaugural Flag Football season!
About Upward Sports
Upward is an evangelistic sports ministry specifically designed for K5 through sixth grade boys and girls that promotes salvation, character, and self-esteem in every child. The purpose of Upward is to introduce children to Jesus Christ by creating opportunities to serve through sports.

Coach and Referee Training
Coaches and referees are needed for the Fall Upward Flag Football season. All Coaches and Referres must complete a Coach and Referee application and a background check form. All Coaches and Referees must pass the background check and they must attend one of the following training sessions:
Tuesday, August 11th at 7:00 p.m.
Sunday, August 16th at 1:00 p.m.
Saturday, August 22nd at 10:00 a.m.
All training classes will be held in the Mt. Harmony Fellowship Hall.

Location/Practice and Game Information
Upward flag football games are played on Saturday at "Vic"tory Field and Walker Pavilion located behind Mt. Harmony Baptist Church (directions). If necessary, due to rainouts, there might be a need to play make-up games during the week. If this occurs, they will be in place of the scheduled practices. The season consists of 8 games which begin on September 12, 2009 and conclude with an end of season awards celebration on November 8. Practices begin the week of August 24 and are held one night during the week for one hour.
