Welcome to Upward Program at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church where Every Child IS a Winner!
Sports are a great way for children to learn about teamwork, respect for authority and sportsmanship. The sad part is all those things are being lost in today's sporting society. With an Upward sport, these key essentials are included to create the best sporting experience for every child that participates. Each Upward Sport is designed to reveal the winner in every child. Every child plays. Every child learns. Every child IS a winner!
Mt. Harmony Baptist Church is excited about our second Upward basketball and cheerleading season. The 2009-2010 basketball and cheerleading season started in December and will wrap up with a Celebration on February 21.
We look forward to having your child join us this Winter as we kickoff our second Upward Basketball and Cheerleading season.
Coach and Referee Training
Coaches and referees are needed for the Winter 2009/2010 Upward Basketball and Cheerleading season. All coaches and referees must complete a coach and referee application, pass a background check, and attend one of the following training sessions:
Friday, November 6th from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Sunday, November 8th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Training classes for coaches and referees will be held in the Mt. Harmony fellowship hall.
About Upward Sports
Upward is an evangelistic sports ministry specifically designed for K4 through sixth grade boys and girls that promotes salvation, character, and self-esteem in every child. The purpose of Upward is to introduce children to Jesus Christ by creating opportunities to serve through sports.

Location/Practice and Game Information
Practices and games will be held at the Lindley Middle School Gym. Lindley is located at 50 Veterans Memorial Hwy, SE (approximately 1/2 mile from Mt. Harmony Baptist Church on the same side of the road). Practices are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. All games are played on Saturday with breaks for the week of Christmas and New Years. Please see your coach for additional information on specific times of practices and games for your team.
