Sports are a great way for children to learn about teamwork, respect for authority and sportsmanship.  The sad part is all those things are being lost in today's sporting society.  With an Upward sport, these key essentials are included to create the best sporting experience for every child that participates.  Each Upward Sport is designed to reveal the winner in every child.  Every child plays.  Every child learns.  Every child IS a winner!

Upward is an evangelistic sports ministry specifically designed for K4 through 8th grade boys and girls that promotes salvation, character, and self-esteem in every child.   The purpose of Upward is to introduce children to Jesus Christ by creating opportunities to serve through sports.

Frequently Asked Questions PDF

Early registration for Spring Upward Soccer is underway and ends on February 11. The cost per child is $90.  The deadline to register is March 3.  After February 11, the registration fee increases to $110 per child so we encourage you to register early.  Register online at www.bluesombrero.com/mhbc.  Forms are also available at the Mt. Harmony Baptist Church Office anytime between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, or 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Friday.   Online registration requires credit card payment.  Paper registration forms require a check made out to Mt. Harmony Baptist Church or cash payment. 

Everyone MUST attend one soccer evaluation.  The evaluations will take place behind Mt. Harmony Baptist Church in Victory Field as follows:

Saturday, February 11, 2012 between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Saturday, February 25, 2012 between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Upward soccer games are played on Saturday at Victory Field behind Mt. Harmony Baptist Church (directions).  The season consists of 8 games and conclude with an end of season awards celebration.  Rain out games may be scheduled during the week.

The first practice will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012 and will last one hour.  The second practice will be on Saturday, March 11.  Remaining practices will be held one night during the week. 

The first game will be Saturday, March 18.  All games will be played on Saturday unless there are rainouts in which case the make-up games will be played during the week.
